The first week

I now currently reside in Whitney Hall, Provo Utah. I love college, this first week was hectic and busy while at the same time fun and exciting. The first couple days it felt strange to be living on my own but I was fine. At BYU people are incredibly friendly. I have met lots of new people and made lots of friends. My roommate is a kid from Alpine, his name is Davis. He is pretty cool we get along well. This week had a lot of new experiences. I have taken pictures of most things so you guys can get a visual of what it is like at college, but I will post them later. Highlights of the week were
          1. Living on my own with no curfew!!!!! I didnt push this one too far it is just kind of a euphoric feeling of being a kid with no rules. I stayed out kind of late a couple of nights talking with people from my dorm. During the week it was doing homework.
2.Cooking dinner. most people here girls included do very little cooking. Most meals I have seen are pb and j's or quesodillas, lots of sandwiches and ready made stuff. THis week I made pancakes from scratch, chicken burritos, ( I seasoned and cooked the chicken myself and it tasted amazing !) chicken and bean burritos, brats, eggs and bacon, and had the basic college food in between those bigger meals. I had this girl suzzane over for dinner the night I made chicken burritos. It was fun, I think I will have people over more often because I am a social eater and like to eat with other people.
          3. J DOGS!! I went here with some of Davis's friends and after hearing lots of hype about this place, i tried my first j dog, and i will say that it lives up to its name. I got the polish sausage with banana peppers, special sauce, and a little bit of sauerkraut, and boy oh boy it was delicious!!!
           4. TA's: let me explain that I am a bit rusty in math, and the math lab, and the reviews they put on are amazing cause I now am no longer freaked out  about my calc class, with the help of the math lab I feel that I can get an A in that class.
           5. fun classes! so student activity classes are tuff to get into because everyone wants to take an easy class. I signed up for ballroom dancing simply because there was nothing else, but I think that class will be kinda fun, we have learned mainly a routine so far and haven't danced with a partner yet, I think once that starts it will be funner. On sunday night I also decided to add one more class, VOLLEYBALL. It is a super fun class, our teacher is new and is really trying to teach technique stuff but I think he will come around and just let us start playing. We played for about half the class on wednesday and it was so much fun !!!!! People can actually hit the ball and we had some good volles going on.
In short first week was awesome, I am writing this first post from home. Last minute on friday afternoon I decided I would come home for the long weekend to see my family. I am so glad I did, it feels great to see them again, and I love and miss them a lot, but I am ready to go back and keep going to college!
